The Colorado Legacy Foundation believes that increased student achievement for all Colorado students requires effective leaders in every school, effective educators in every classroom, and healthy and engaged students who come to school ready to learn.

The Colorado Legacy Foundation believes that teachers are valued professionals who create change in the educational landscape and create equity for student outcomes. As such, we employ several strategies that engage teachers in policy conversations. The presence of a teacher at the table, as well as his or her ability to facilitate input from a broader set of peers, is invaluable to stronger policies and smarter policy implementation. 

We provide support for several teacher leaders and teacher leader groups. We facilitate conversations between CDE and teachers to better inform policy implementation, engage teachers in our work to ensure it includes a teacher’s voice, and provide teachers with access to various events and groups that benefit from a teacher’s perspective.
