Stephanie Wasserman is the Colorado Legacy Foundation’s Director of Health and Wellness, a program that advances the critical link between school health and academic success in Colorado’s K-12 public schools. By supporting schools and districts in promoting healthy learning environments, and reducing educationally-relevant health disparities, the program fosters innovation, promising practices, professional development, capacity-building and sustainability in state and local school wellness policies and practice. Prior to joining the Colorado Legacy Foundation, Stephanie spent more than 20 years serving as an expert in public health policy, health care access, research and advocacy with a special focus on medically underserved children and youth. She managed the opening and operation of numerous school-based health centers, directed efforts to raise awareness on priority public health issues among state lawmakers, and leveraged many collaborative partnerships with schools, foundations, and service providers to advance the health of children.
